Welcome back to Ladybirds! We hope children and families had a lovely Christmas – we’re sure it was a busy time for all, judging by the plans the children were telling us about during our last week of term.
Our final maths topic of the term was estimating, so the children wrapped boxes – Erica and Donna were very excited to receive the “presents” (empty washing powder/chocolate/wine boxes etc)

One of the highlights this term was our trip to St Matthew’s Church where we listened to the story of the Nativity – it was very special hearing it in the church and the children sat totally absorbed. We lit the Advent Candle and made sparkly stars from pipe cleaners, paper plates and stickers. Thank you to Rev. Armstrong and Mrs Rowe.
Our final day of term was our Christmas Party at Little Kingfishers; we played adventure games in the climbing frame, hide-and- seek and dinosaurs….the adults were exhausted! To round off a lovely morning we had a very special visitor who took time out of his busy schedule to bring the children presents…..thank you Father Christmas, you made a lot of children very happy!
Thank you Father Christmas!
Our themes for the first two weeks of 2016 will be Robots and Space, incorporating shapes and sizing. “We live on planet Earth” one little boy has already informed us…….!
Also, our Letter of the Week next week is “V” so please send in your toys or objects for the children to talk about beginning with this letter during registration. It’s a challenge!
